Rent by the hour photography and content production space
Virginia Creative Collective can be rented by the hour, half day, or full day time blocks. Rentals give you access to the full studio suite, including both rooms, the foyer, the bathroom, and any of our rental equipment and furniture. Equipment and furniture may vary due to the nature of short term rentals, but generally includes several soft boxes, backdrops and backdrop stands, lifestyle staging furniture, a few plants, various chairs and stools, a desk, and desktop accessories.
Our studio is perfect for family portraits, newborn sessions that feel like in-home, engagement photos, cozy maternity sessions, commercial and product photography, headshots, brand sessions, group photoshoots, and content creation.

We are always changing and improving the studio! If you need a specific item, backdrop, wall color, or piece of furniture, please call or text before booking to ensure it will be there. Things are occasionally replaced, refreshed, or in repair.

About our studio Spaces
The studio itself consists of two creative spaces:
A lifestyle room with large windows, a mantel, and beautiful hard wood floors. The room is typically styled like a cozy living room. For hosting, groups of up to 15 can gather here.
Our back room is typically set up with our large backdrop stand, where we have several different paper roll colors in stock for both neutral and colorful portraits, depending on your style.
We also have a foyer where we keep a steamer, clothing rack, coffee maker/refreshments, and emergency supplies like tape, scissors, etc.

Can I have time to get ready or set up before my rental?
Please book all the time you need to prepare for, complete, and clean up after your session or project. We do sometimes have multiple sessions in one day. We do schedule 15 minutes before and after each rental to ensure the space is ready for the next person.
I want to book the studio for my photos, but don’t have a photographer yet. Can you help me?
Yes! We have a strong network of photographers that use our studio space and can recommend the right person for your style, session type, and budget. Please reach out, or see our recommended photographers here.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Cancellations can be made 1 week in advance. Cancellations under 1 week notice can be credited towards a future reservation. Rescheduling is typically an option if availability allows.
What backdrop colors are available?
Our large 114″ paper rolls change from time to time. Please reach out to confirm availability of specific backdrops or props. We usually have black, white, tan/beige, olive green, and dark blue available.
Can I book the studio at the last minute?
Yes! If booking less than 2 days notice or the scheduler is not allowing you to book online, please text 540-470-8652 for help. We may be able to accommodate a last minute booking.
What happens if something breaks while I’m there?
You’ll have our cell phone number and support within 15 minutes to resolve any issues related to the building, equipment, or space. Renters are liable for damages to our property or equipment during their rental.
Can I host a party at the studio?
Our new space is much smaller than our previous lease. While we used to be able to host parties of up to 50, we currently can’t hold more than 15 people at a time.
Do I have to have business insurance on file to reserve the studio?
If you do not have insurance that covers your rental, you’ll be held personally liable for any damage to the building, space, furniture, and our property/belongings that occur during your rental. When you reserve your time, you’ll place a card on file for any damages. This is an extremely rare occurrence.
